College Bound!

Who knew 18 years could go by so fast? I never dreamed as I brought home that 7 lb. 12oz. baby boy, that the years would fly by at lightening speed. It boggles my mind and breaks my heart, but at the same time, I am so excited for Ty. He is so ready and University of Colorado Denver is such a cool place! He is going to love the film and media dept. We learned yesterday at college orientation that Colorado is #1 in growth for producers and directors! We had to laugh because his room mates' name is Kyle! How funny is that? So, as one phase of life comes to an end, another one starts for my sweet young man. I can't wait to see what he does with his life, I know it will be amazing, just because he is amazing!
Thanks for letting a mom grieve a little....

T

The Holter Hacienda

Here is the new Holter Hacienda!!!
We are still in the midst of unpacking boxes, but we are pretty much in business! We really like the house and the area, lots of great places to run and bike, the trails are endless.
The boys were worn out, so I sent them to see the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight. Lauren, Cyr and I were able to get so much more done, with them out of the way. But, I need them back now, I want some furniture moved......well gotta run....

Let The Upacking Begin!

The next 3 days will be an unpacking blur! The truck arrived yesterday, and one of Troy's church planting friends brought a youth group from Missouri. They had 25 youth unloading the truck and got it done in an hour!!! What an amazing blessing! It would have taken Ty and Troy two days!
This house is so different from our house in Sheridan. One thing I love is that there is so much light! Tons of windows and as soon as the sun rises, it is bright sunshine throughout the whole house! Lauren told me this morning that she needs dark curtains, so she can sleep past 6 am! Another big difference is that you can reach out the window and practically touch your neighbors' house! That will take some getting used to, after living on 2 acres for so long. But, all in all, we love it! Kyle is in heaven because the cable/internet guy came yesterday! I have to say, I am very thankful to have internet. How else would I keep up with all my wonderful friends?
Well, I must run ahead......let the unpacking begin!!
love always,
T

The Guys are Here!

My boys made it to Denver! Finally! We have been apart for 5 long weeks and I've missed them so much. They pulled in around 3 pm yesterday and unloaded the truck. Our furniture won't be here unil Thursday, so they opted to sleep on the floor! Lauren and I are way too good for that, so we went to Cyr and Aubro's to spend yet another night!!!! I'm too old and spoiled to not sleep in a bed! That and I have to work, you know!
I am so glad to have the fam together again. Its been a long year and one of my future blogs will be about this past years journey, so stay tuned.......
Say a prayer that all our furniture gets here in one piece. I'm a little worried about that. Troy said the 26 foot trailor was packed like a can of sardines. Why do we Americans have soooooo much stuff??????? I know it will fill this 4 bedroom, 3 car garage, with a complete basement to the max! Insanity!
Well, I'm off to bed. One more day of work and then a 3 day weekend of unpacking. Where are all my friends when I need them, I tell you?????
much love,
T

Snow in July

July 12, 2008

We spent the day driving up to Rocky Mountain National Park! It took several hours on a very narrow and windy dirt road. The scenery was unbelievable, with the snow capped mountains as the backdrop. Cyr had never seen so much snow in her life (little Florida girl)! We climbed up to 12,000 feet to get an even better view. The air was crisp, the mountains spectacular, and the sky so blue. It really was breathtaking.......figuratively and literally (the altitude takes some getting used to)! We stopped and had a snow ball fight on the drive down. The snow was cold on our sandel clad feet! We ended the day in Estes Park, where we had dinner and did some window shopping.

I am so anxioius for my boys to get here.....they are leaving Arkansas tomorrow for their 2 day trip here. Its been way too long and I've missed them terribly. The longest I've ever been away from them was last October when I went to China for 2 weeks. So 5 weeks without them is definetly too long.

We will move into our house in Aurora, CO. It is in a nice neighborhood and in a great school district. Kyle can literally walk to school, its two streets behind our house. Its a 3 story house; basement, main floor, second floor with bedrooms. I just hope the heat works!!!! It is big enough for company, so I wonder who will actually come like they said they would?????

Let me hear from you and remember to keep running ahead.......

love,

Tonya
